Structure Fire
Thursday, July 22, 2010 10:11

At around 10:00 AM units were dispatched to a structure fire on Manakin Road. Engine 11 arrived to find a large barn fully involved. Due to limited water supply, E11's crew stretched an 1 3/4 inch hand line to extinguish the fire and protect exposed buildings until a water shuttle could be established. Once the shuttle was set up, the main body of fire was attacked. Intense heat required an extensive rehab operation, and some crews remained on scene as late as 5 PM cleaning up. No animals, civilians, or firefighters were injured.
